Website Development as a Credence Good: A Field Experiment

There are many markets for credence goods which have been assessed in recent economic research, including taxi services, car mechanics, health care or electronics repairs. How- ever, as no previous research inspects solely an Internet-based environment, the thesis examines the web development market as the representative of a new potential segment of markets for credence goods. In particular, the discrimination in overcharging based on gender or technical experience of a customer is assessed. For this reason, a natural field experiment was designed and subsequently, 341 Czech web developers and IT firms were approached via email to collect the proposed prices for a fictitious E-shop development contract. After the analysis of the outcome variables, the multiple linear regression model with the ordinary least squares (OLS) method was employed. The results suggest that male customers tend to get higher price proposals than women. The second implication is that customers who signalled technical experience in the email inquiry appear to get higher prices than the non-technical customers. Analysis of the loading speed of websites using CSS frameworks

This thesis deals with the loading time of websites developed by CSS frameworks. Thesis also focuses on website optimization and website measuring. The main goal of this thesis is to execute the performance analysis on a websites developed by different CSS frameworks. Finally approach and evaluate which CSS framework is due to the loading time of a website best suited for a particular type of website. The theoretical part explains the concept of CSS framework. In this part are also presented the most popular CSS frameworks. Following part of thesis deals with loading time of websites. There are described optimization possibilities and website measuring. In the practical part is the performance analysis of the loading time of different websites developed by different CSS frameworks. The conclusion of thesis evaluates the results of the analyzes and subsequently are presented recommendations which are based on these results. The recommendations and the analyzes forms main contribution of this thesis and can help to website developers to select a CSS framework for developing websites due to less loading time of a website.
Analysis of project management of the website development

This Bachelor Thesis deals with a project management of website development. It is divided into three main parts. The first part is theoretical and explains fundamental terms of project management and software development. The second part is the methodology which presents basic instruments of data collection, analysis and evaluation. The third part is practical and is also divided into three parts. The first one is describing the Fox Hunter s.r.o. company whose team realized the project of website development. The second part is a qualitative analysis which analyses the project management of the specific project and reveals it's deficiencies. The last part contains proposed actions thus is proposing specific solutions of revealed deficiencies.
